A warm welcome
1880 was an eventful year. Konrad Duden publishes the first dictionary, on which he worked on for 30 years has. Cologne Cathedral is completed. The Lake Constance and the Lake Zurich are completely frozen over. And an association is founded in Jonsdorf: The Jonsdorf Mountain Club. This association did a great deal for the town until 1937. After that, the trail disappears.
In 2001, this tradition was revived with the re-establishment of the Jonsdorfer Gebirgsverein. The Jonsdorfer Gebirgsverein 1880 e. V. feels connected to the original tradition.
The association is committed to the goals of landscape and nature conservation. The association grounds are located on the property "An der Sternwarte 6" in the center of the spa town of Jonsdorf.
Club life and goals
The focus is on the operation of the “Jonsdorf millstone quarries” show workshop, the “Jonsdorf observatory”, the practice of traditional crafts and representative public relations work. Visit our guided tours of the Jonsdorf observatory and the show mine for more information.
